2009 Bupa Sports Days
The 2009 Bupa Graduate Team are raising £5,000 to fund the set up and running costs of a mobile clinic providing primary care for a full year.
Every 18 months Bupa recruits approximately ten recently qualified individuals as part of their graduate scheme. This scheme involves three six month placements around different areas of the business, training in management skills and also the completion of a 'graduate challenge' which gives this group the chance to work on a project to raise money for a charity of their choice.

On 16th July and 6th August the Bupa graduate team will be bringing back the school sports day for their colleagues in both Staines and Brighton.
These events will involve a rounders tournament and other old school games such as a sack race. Spectators are also being encouraged to attend through a bbq and a raffle. Teams across the Bupa group will be charged to enter into the day and response so far has been really positive with everyone looking forward to a fun-filled evening. St Albans Medical Centre 2009
Now in it's third year, the St Albans Clinic goes from strength to strength
The St Albans Medical Centre was started through the generosity of Businessmen in England who continue to supply the core funding for the project through the Rainbow Ball, held each year.
We have received a request for additional funds from the director Sophy Paul who is planning to extend treatment further afield. For this she requires a new vehicle, one able to transport the sick to the medical centre, or in some cases to the main hospital in Cuddalore.
Can you help?
We
are now employing two laboratory technicians thanks to kind donations
A donation is an act of kindness, and such acts have the power to transform the lives of both the giver and receiver. We would like to thank all those who have supported us this year with the knowledge that they have made a difference in relieving the suffering of others.

FECT Appeal 2009
We are putting together an appeal to help 48 leprosy affected adults in Southern India
A small team of volunteers in Kodungal have taken 48 leprosy affected people into their own home. We urgently need to build them a new house so they can leave the cramped and overcrowded room where they currently live.
These people are all elderly and have been abandoned by their families. Many of them cannot work due to the end stage disfiguration of their hands and feet caused by their untreated disease. We need your help to give them a new home and new hope for the future.

Notes for Goats
You can help a family by buying a goat for only five pounds
St James' School in Malvern held a teddy bears picnic and raised a staggering £150. On the last trip to India Lorraine Page bought 28 goats that were given to 14 families identified as the poorest in the area and suffering from HIV and AIDS.
The kind children of St James' School were presented with a picture from India as a thankyou for all that they had given.
Notes for goats was the brainchild of Natalie White who has turned a recent visit to India into a way of helping others. While there, she noticed how much goats were able to help poor famlies. A goat only costs £5 but provides nourishing milk and a source of income for many people. The last tsunami wiped out vast areas of farmland, covering it with sand, making it barren and impossible to cultivate. Families have lost their livelihoods and buying a goat is an excellent way of helping them. Natalie wants to keep the fundraising personal, people helping other people in a straightforward way and with nothing spent on administration

This lady is the proud owner of a new goat.
Any school can invite Janeve members to come and talk to students. We have bracelets and bindis that can be sold as part of school projects to buy the goats. The friendship bracelets provide an income for the women.
